A Lifetime of Understanding
Monica’s personal experience with hearing loss and wearing hearing aids since childhood helps her empathize with her patients about the unique challenges and needs of coping with a hearing loss. She understands that fitting hearing aids properly is only part of the process. She enjoys counseling, not only patients, but their loved ones to help improve their overall quality of life.

Monica earned a Master’s Degree in Audiology from
San Diego State University in 1996 and was designated
the
Outstanding Graduate Student of the Department
She also graduated Summa Cum Laude with a
Bachelor’s Degree in Communicative Disorders
from California State Univerity, Northdridge in 1994
She completed her Clinical Fellowship Year in 1997
She is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association, the South Carolina Academy of Audiology, and holds State Licensure in Audiology

Teresa also has personal experience with hearing loss
and hearing aids and she is very attuned to the needs of our patients.
She has over 30 years of experience in customer service.
Teresa performs many valuable services including
scheduling patients, hearing aid clean and checks,
minor hearing aid repairs,
assistance with Bluetooth connectivity
and counseling patients and family members
about proper hearing aid maintenance and use.

It’s hard to describe the vast difference between the hearing clinic at the Savannah VA and Monica’s Beaufort Audiology. 8 years ago I got hearing aids from the VA.
Although a pleasant experience there was no real instruction or follow up care. When I did need follow up this year as my hearing aids were kaput, I was told I could have an appointment in approximately 7 months. I was asked if I wanted to go through the VA’s new Community Care Program.
Monica’s staff contacted me and I was given an appointment almost immediately.
Best move of my hearing life.
Without going through great detail, just read her other reviews, this has been such a wonderful experience and I now have hearing aids that work, I am much more educated about hearing loss then ever. I cannot imagine going to anyone else, ever.

When I started having “ringing in the ears” bouts of vertigo and dizziness, I was diagnosed with Meniere’s Disease. I was very concerned about the ringing and hearing loss. Veteran’s Services
We are delighted to address the hearing needs of veterans in our local community under the VA Community Care program. Veterans may receive services, hearing aids, repairs and accessories in our office on Lady’s Island
fully covered by the VA.
You may be eligible for VA Community Care if you live over 40 miles from the VA Hospital in Savannah or Charleston
or if there are significant delays to receive care at one of those facilities.
To see a Community Care provider, you must first receive prior authorization.
STEP 1:
Visit the VA clinic at Beaufort Naval Hospital and enroll in the VA system in order to obtain an appointment with a doctor there. Inform them at your appointment that you would like to receive treatment at Beaufort Audiology & Hearing Care with audiologist Monica Wiser, M.A. CCC-A through the Community Care program. The provider there will then submit a request for authorization to the Community Care office in Charleston. (The clinic may first refer you to another clinic for a disability evaluation if you have not already had one.)
STEP 2:
Authorization for your care will be faxed to us, and we will contact you to schedule an appointment. When contacted for your appointment, verify with the scheduler that the appointment is with Beaufort Audiology & Hearing Care. If they reference a different provider, you can contact the VA to express your preference to see us instead.
